Appeal an enforcement decision

How to request review of a warning, strike, suspension, Channel freeze, or permanent ban.

Which decision are you appealing?#

Cittly can review account warnings and strikes, temporary restrictions, suspensions, and Channel freezes. One formal appeal is allowed per permanent account-ban or permanent Channel-ban decision. An appeal is a review request, not a guarantee of another chance or reinstatement.

The account holder should appeal their own account decision. A Channel owner or authorized administrator should appeal a platform decision against that Channel. Do not impersonate another account holder or claim authority over a Channel you do not manage.

How to submit#

Use the in-app support or appeal route if one is available. You can also email [support@cittly.com](mailto:support@cittly.com?subject=Cittly%20enforcement%20appeal). Use the subject “Cittly enforcement appeal”, followed by your account or Channel identifier if appropriate.

Include:
- Your account identifier and the email associated with the account, where applicable.
- The affected Channel identifier if the decision concerns a Channel.
- The decision reference, date, and restriction shown in the notice, if available.
- A concise explanation of what you believe was incorrect.
- Relevant safe context, such as mistaken identity, account compromise, misunderstood content, or a policy error.

Do not send passwords, one-time codes, financial credentials, unnecessary identity documents, or suspected child sexual abuse material. Reference content safely using identifiers rather than redistributing prohibited material.

After a permanent-ban appeal#

Submit the complete explanation together where possible. Relevant additional information sent while that appeal is being reviewed belongs to the same appeal; it is not another formal appeal. Repeated copies of the request do not create new review rights.

After the formal appeal decision, there is no routine second appeal for the same permanent ban. This does not limit any review or remedy required by applicable law, or prevent Cittly from correcting an error it identifies.

What review may change#

Cittly may uphold the decision, reverse it, correct an erroneous strike, or adjust the restriction where appropriate. A reversal of one decision does not automatically cancel unrelated enforcement. Removed content is not guaranteed to be restored merely because an account restriction changes.

This policy does not promise a review deadline. A strike or restriction does not disappear when an appeal is submitted, and an active suspension or freeze continues unless Cittly changes the decision or its stated period ends.

If you cannot sign in#

Use the email route rather than creating another account to evade enforcement. Ask for account-access help separately if you cannot identify the decision. Support may need to verify ownership or authority before discussing private account or Channel information.

Channel-owner decisions#

A local Channel rule or membership decision is usually handled with the owner through available tools. Cittly can still review platform-rule violations or abuse of those tools. Cittly's permanent-ban appeal allowance applies to Cittly-imposed decisions, not a promise that every owner must offer the same local process.

Billing and deletion remain separate#

Appealing is not a refund request and does not cancel a subscription. Manage billing through the provider identified on your receipt. You may still request account deletion; that request does not reverse a ban or automatically erase lawfully retained enforcement records.

For child-safety reports, use [childsafety@cittly.com](mailto:childsafety@cittly.com) or the in-app Report button or form. Do not wait for an appeal to report an urgent concern. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
