Account warnings, suspensions & bans

The three-strike policy, immediate action for severe abuse, and what each restriction means.

Who this policy covers#

This policy applies to Cittly accounts and conduct across the features available in your version: random conversations, posts, Vids, comments, messages, profiles, Channels, and creator interactions. Cittly tech enforces the community guidelines, child-safety standards, and terms.

Account enforcement and Channel enforcement are separate. A Channel owner's local membership decision is also different from a Cittly-wide account ban. Read Channel enforcement.

Ordinary violations: three active strikes#

For confirmed ordinary violations, the following sequence applies:

  • First active strike: a warning and removal of the violating content, where applicable. The warning identifies the behavior that must stop.
  • Second active strike: a seven-day account suspension, with violating content removed where applicable.
  • Third active strike: a permanent account ban, with violating content removed where applicable.

Examples of ordinary violations can include non-severe spam, disruptive behavior, or inappropriate content that breaks the rules but does not require immediate severe-abuse action. Severity and context matter: harassment, impersonation, or a scam can be serious enough to fall under the immediate-action section below.

What counts as a strike#

A user report is a request for review, not a strike by itself. A strike is an enforcement finding that Cittly has confirmed a rule violation. Multiple reports about the same incident do not by themselves create multiple strikes. Distinct violations can lead to separate findings.

Deleting a post, leaving a call, or ending a friendship does not automatically cancel an already-issued strike. If a strike was issued in error, request a review through enforcement appeals.

How strikes expire#

Each ordinary strike stops counting toward the three-strike sequence 90 days after it was issued. This is an individual expiry period, not 90 days from your most recent strike. See strike expiry and examples.

Expiry does not restore removed content, cancel an active suspension, or reverse a permanent ban already imposed. It also does not promise that enforcement records are deleted; retention is a separate privacy question.

What a seven-day suspension blocks#

During a suspension, you may not participate through:

- Publishing posts or Vids, commenting, or other content participation.

- Sending messages or starting voice or video calls.

- Random matching or Channel live interactions.

- Managing a Channel or organizing creator sessions.

Reading available content, account settings, support, appeal submissions, and deletion requests remain available. If you cannot access an in-app route, email [support@cittly.com](mailto:support@cittly.com). The suspension period is seven days from the start stated in the enforcement decision; a separate enforcement action can impose a further restriction.

Immediate action for severe abuse#

The ordinary warning sequence is not a right to commit severe abuse before Cittly can act. Cittly may immediately remove content, restrict access, suspend an account, or permanently ban it for serious violations. These include child sexual abuse and exploitation, grooming, sexual extortion, credible serious threats, severe coordinated harassment or doxxing, trafficking, major fraud, and deliberate evasion of a permanent ban.

The child-safety standards apply without exception, including to an adult-only service. Suspected child sexual abuse material must not be uploaded, shared, or attached to an appeal. Required reporting, preservation, and legal obligations remain separate from the strike count.

What a permanent ban means#

A permanent ban ends your permission to use Cittly through that account. It has no automatic end date. You may not create or use another account, borrow an account, or use someone else to continue the banned activity. A ban is different from an account-deletion request and does not promise immediate erasure of records.

You may submit one formal appeal per permanent-ban decision. Reinstatement is not guaranteed. Read enforcement appeals, ban evasion, and account deletion.

Understanding the decision#

Use the information in your enforcement notice, including any rule, decision reference, restriction, start time, or end time provided. If an explanation is missing or unclear, ask support for clarification. Do not assume a particular notification screen or strike-counter feature exists in your installed version.

A report, an appeal, or a subscription does not exempt an account from enforcement. Support and safety contacts are not emergency services.
