## A place for a shared interest
A channel is a community built around a person, topic, genre, game, app, or other interest. Creators and other users can build communities and set channel-specific rules.

## Three parts of a channel
- **Posts:** community content and discussion.
- **Live:** one-to-one conversations with people in the same community, plus creator-organized sessions where available.
- **Members:** the people in a community and the owner's membership management tools.

## Channel rules and platform rules
Channel rules can be stricter than Cittly's platform rules. They can never permit exploitation, harassment, sexual content, fraud, or another platform violation. Read a channel's rules before joining its conversations.

## Creator identity
A channel name does not by itself prove that a celebrity, creator, company, or organization owns it. Do not impersonate others or present an unofficial fan community as official.
